With an ambitious project, comes great responsibility. However, CULTURE has brought together a number of artisans, designers and artists that all have the same goal: to elevate design and craftsmanship.
It all started in the newly-inaugurated Covet House, the “city of design” brought to us by Covet Group, where the launch of this amazing project took place and a number of entities were present to witness the birth of something great.
A meeting point for thinkers and makers to share knowledge and promote the future of Portuguese applied arts, CULTURE has the ambition to preserve the national arts, and for that, it has gathered government entities, universities, polytechnics, professional centers, artists, artisans and designers.
Joaquim Paulo and João Barros are two of the designers that are part of the Brhands Foundation and the face of this new and exciting project. Joaquim Paulo tells us that “CULTURE project’s main mission is to be able to put, all in one place, the artists, artisans and designers and to create a synergy where there’s an exchange of knowledge and know-how, and being able to project it onto pieces and elevate craftsmanship through design for the whole world”.
This ambitious project will be the source of knowledge about the design & craftsmanship in Portugal, not only for the international market, but also for artists, artisans and designers that seek to learn more about these arts that are so characteristic, historic and important to Portugal.
