From the 20th to the 21st of June, in the portuguese city of Oporto, Covet Group will host the 1st edition of the Luxury Design & Craftsmanship Summit.
To start summer with the right foot, Covet Group will bring to Oporto an unparalleled event, having as the main goal the discussion of what’s to come in the design world and highlighting the role of craftsmanship in the industry

Luxury Design & Craftmanship Summit’ 18 is a one of a kind event in the world bringing together the creative minds, designers, makers, and brands, to discuss what’s next in the Luxury Design World. This summit aims is to point the lenses of the industry towards a new direction, Craftsmanship.
The event will take place at Pavilhão Multiusos de Gondomar, designed by Pritzker Prize Winner, Architect Álvaro Siza Vieira. Gondomar it’s the perfect city to host the 1st edition of the Luxury Design & Craftsmanship Summit because, it’s a place known for its love and devotion to craftsmanship, mainly in the jewelry industry with a special kind of love and attention for the traditional art of creating stunning jewelry pieces in filigree.
Taking place in a city renowned for its craftsmanship heritage, the two-day event had no choice but present an distinguished line-up of keynote presenters to provide a dynamic and energetic debate and informed conversation for those who seek to be at the forefront of the Luxury Design field.
The first panel is dedicated to The Value of Craftmanship for the Luxury World, this panel will show real case studies that explain the meaning of exclusivity and authenticity. On this first day the event will be closed by Gondomar’s Mayor, Marco Martins with a Port of Honor.
In the first official day of summer, 21st of June, two panels will be happening, Design as a Driving force for Local Craftsmanship, a closer look into the rise of the Designer-Maker, a journey from the past towards a new cultural progress to promote creativity and innovation, while respecting traditions and safeguarding heritage; and the closing panel will be Luxury Branding: The Behind the Scenes Story and in which it will debate the connection between the hereditary techniques and its usage for the most recent marketing campaigns of leading luxury business brands.

Luís Onofre, designer of luxury shoes and accessories and President of APICCAP.
The international non-profit entity Michelangelo Foundation, that maintains the master craftmanship tradition and strenghtens its connection to the world of design.
Topázio, Portuguese company with more than 140 years of history, expert in the creation and production of unique designed hand-carved silver.
Boca do Lobo, Portuguese brand of furniture-art design recognized for its unique and innovative and hand-worked designs.
Fundação Ricardo Espírito Santo Silva, a foundation created with the objective of protecting the Portuguese Decorative Arts and the handicrafts related to them.
Vista Alegre, the oldest porcelain factory in the Iberian Peninsula, turning 200 years old in 2024.
