This September, the main theme will be Virtuous and we are going to dive deep into it to find out just what this means. Buckle up and join us to discover more about M&O!

Maison & Objet always brings us the newest trends, news and new brands and products from the furniture world. Being one of the most awaited events of furniture every year, it constantly has new and exciting themes that it focuses on. This year’s theme is Virtuous and we are obsessed with the idea behind it all.

Vincent Grégoire from trend agency NellyRodi, who designed the Inspirations Space and the Café-Bookstore, analyses the theme of MAISON&OBJET and tells us exactly what it means: “We must put an end to this shift towards generalised overstimulation. We need new rules, a more virtuous ethic, innovative solutions for alternative growth and consumer practices.” To him, the theme of this September edition of M&O brings to light a social issue that will need to be discussed by all.

“Respecting our fellow human beings and nature, saving natural resources, passing knowledge on to future generations, fighting planned obsolescence: such are the challenges of the 21st century.”

Indeed, this year M&O will focuses on 4 values: responsible production, artisanship and fair trade, with an emerging idea of upcycling and repairing. This all connects to environmental consciousness and we couldn’t be more on board with this issue being discussed with such passion this year.

Consumers are increasingly educated. Their expectations for the products they buy are a determining factor, but also one that is constantly changing. Consumers ‘ponder’ their purchases, they are realising that there are alternative and smarter ways to consume.

We can’t reveal too much but this will be the primary focus of Maison et Objet this September and you definitely need to be there to see it for yourself. New trends and ideas will surface and Essential Home will be present much like other furniture brands from around the world.
