As a mom of two teenage boys, E! News correspondent Catt Sadler needed a space to call her own. While she already had a functional living room where she could kick back with her sons Arion and Austin, she was missing a place to entertain, read and catch up with the kids without any distractions. “I really wanted a more elevated, glamorous, sophisticated room that felt more adult,” Sadler, 42, says. So take a look at Catt Sadler’s living room makeover.

“For this new space, I really wanted a more elevated, glamorous, more sophisticated room that felt more adult,” Catt noted.
Sadler kept the decorative accessories simple and chic. “I despise clutter or too much of anything, it makes me feel heavy,” she says. “I don’t over-accessorize when I get dressed and I certainly don’t want too many knickknacks in my home.”
Soft fabrics, a glass coffee table and walls painted in Sea Salt from Portola Paints & Glazes create a serene scene that, “Doesn’t elicit being on your cell phone,” she says, “It elicits a true feeling of ‘visiting’ with other humans.”
Sadler says before, “The room had felt ‘undone’ for a long time, with not enough seating.” Winthrop incorporated the just-right amount of furniture to both satisfy Sadler’s entertaining needs and the designer’s own cardinal living room rule: “Every seat should have a place to put down a drink!”
