Another week, another living room inspiration, this time featured in a high-rise apartment in Milwaukee designed by the one and only Victoria Hagan. The decorator created a soft space as compelling as the sparkling views over the city’s waterfront.

Victoria Hagan was overwhelmed by the living room that was 425 feet above the lake and felt in love immediately by the profound calm of the space. The apartment in Milwaukee is one of the city’s newest landmarks: the University Club Tower, designed by architect Peter Ellis of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill.
Hagan conceived the decor to suit the clients’ lifestyle, so she created a relaxed and informal scheme in order to keep things simple. “I don’t like it when people have to move furniture around,” she says.
The living space is so vast and the cinematic view so compelling that what one senses most is the luxury of unencumbered space interrupted only by a pair of massive structural columns. The living room furniture was much of it designed by Hagan and was covered in beige linen velvet.

Brubeck floor lamp by DelightFULL
Brubeck floor lamp has brass tubes that are carefully covered with the desired finish and gently joined together in order to attribute a contemporary lighting effect. The result is a functional lighting with a double proposal: besides to be a sculptural lighting able to enlighten any setting, a set of floor versions can also be transformed into a modern room divider that you can light up.
Take a look at the rest of the house and fall in love.
In the end, the designer concluded “The star of this film isn’t the apartment, it’s Milwaukee,” explains Hagan. “The city has an understated elegance. You don’t want to shout. And that made designing this home especially rewarding for me because in all my work I think there’s grace and beauty in a little . . . less.”
