In the heart of Medieval Barcelona – Barrio Gotico – there is a modern living room that brings light to the city with its contemporary lighting.
Of course, this is not a surprise, considering the home’s occupants: Anke Summerhill, the Creative Director of Minotti London, and her husband John Summerhill, MD of Minotti London. They renovated the apartment to create open space and rooms that flow into one another while taking advantage of original assets like the existing brick walls and exposed beams.

The living space features a circular white marble table underneath a contemporary descendant of retro sphere lighting: Atomic suspension lamp by DelightFULL. The lamp is a spot-on interpretation of the atomic age design and it’s ideal to be placed in a modern living room.
On the opposite side, the living area is filled with envious array of furniture and accessories from Minotti.
There’s also a Duke standing lamp and a soothing neutral color palette that make the apartment a comfortable yet sophisticated place. This elegant floor fixture is finished in black matte & gold plated, raising the design with a modern touch.

Light wooden floors and white walls create a bright backdrop for this apartment’s contemporary style. The kitchen flows easily into a stylish living room, which is perfect for grabbing another bottle from the large wine fridge during dinner.
The design preserved much of the structure’s character, while updating its look. The Summerhills exposed original beams and brickwork in the living room, giving the contemporary space historic charm.
