Salone del Mobile Milano 2016 (side by side with other events of 2016 Milan Design Week) is arriving and we want you to be inspired by some living room designs. There’s an easy way to get a modern and iconic living area, all you have to do is to feature some iconic designs in your living room ideas. And why not to start with Vitra?
Vitra is a Swiss family-owned furniture company with headquarters in Switzerland.

Vitra’s products have received numerous design-related awards by international organizations. The products have been used in numerous high-profile settings, including the plenary chamber of Germany, the Bundestag, the Tate Modern in London and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. Check out some of the most iconic design furniture pieces by Vitra that you can use in your lounge area.
Heart Cone Chair – The Heart Cone Chair takes its name from its heart-shaped silhouette. The extended wings of the backrest are reminiscent of Mickey Mouse ears, but can also be interpreted as a contemporary development of the classic wingback chair.
Freeform Sofa – The Freeform Sofa was produced around 1950 in limited numbers. Today, the few remaining pieces achieve record prices at auction. Since 2002, it has been produced by the Vitra Design Museum as a fully authentic re-edition. The sofa is suitable not only for use in living spaces but also in lobbies, hotels, and retail shops.
Potence Wall Light – Designed as a pivoting wall lamp for the ‘Maison Tropique’, Potence is regarded as one of Jean Prouvé’s puristic masterpieces. The fascination of this luminaire, which is over two metres long and dimmable, stems from the spareness of its materials and forms.
Grand Repos and Ottoman – Jointly developed by Vitra and Antonio Citterio, the lounge chairs Repos and Grand Repos introduce a new level of comfort and flexibility to the home environment: with their generous padding, inviting armrests and high backrest, these elegant swivel-based lounge chairs impart an image of supreme comfort.
