This week, we selected a mid-century and Scandinavian style inspired apartment in the very cultural city of St. Petersburg. The apartment design was fully thought and carried out by the INT2 Architecture team, that made sure to bring the mid-century approach to the next level, not forgetting its roots. This made possible to end up with a more modern feel, obviously inspired by the Scandinavian design.
Curious? Let’s make our way into the living room!
Both the main entryway and living room benefit from the gift of natural light. This works great with the design, filled with light colors like the subtle wood flooring, and the mostly white walls. Also in the entryway, we can see a creative wood slat design that acts as an open coat closet and beautiful room divider.
Once we completely set foot in the living room can see some of the most prominent mid-century pieces, such as the teak sideboard and the cashmere gray sofa. Their simple design is firmly anchored in the mid-century modern and Scandinavian looks, managing to be ultimately timeless.
What also makes this design work so well are the splashes of color we can see throughout the room, like the mustard yellow chair, the patterned pillows, or the black and white wallpaper. They make a great contrast with all the light colors that set the tone for the room, making it look effortlessly modern. The finishing touch is definitely the coffee table, that has the same modern feel, with its just barely rounded legs and beautiful wood finish.
