The interior designer studied Architecture but chose to follow a different path. Mentored by decorator Miles Redd, Nick Olsen started his eponymous design firm in 2010. Olsen is known for creating history-charged interiors which are still comfortable and luxurious. His interior design projects have a certain sense of humor, and his style is quite layered. Nick’s aesthetics are his trademark as he mixes antiques and contemporary design pieces, he plays with scale, pattern, and texture, and he’s not afraid of bold color combinations.
New York is very much Olsen’s territory. The designer has worked extensively around the city, from townhouses in Manhattan to summer homes on Nantucket and Sag Harbor.
