After a lot of buzz and a ~couple~ of bets, Pantone has finally revealed their Color of the Year!
It was last Thursday, Dec. 7 that Pantone unveiled their color of the year for 2018. After a great year of Greenery and fresh starts, Pantone gracefully presented us with Ultra Violet, a shade of purple that people can’t seem to stop talking about! “Inventive and imaginative, Ultra Violet lights the way to what is yet to come.”
For 2018, Pantone is trying to bring different ideas of originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking to the table. And how does Ultra Violet come into play? Well, Pantone Color of the Year 2018 comes to emphasize the idea of the magic world we live in, of what might lie ahead of us and the discoveries that are beyond where we are right now.
And it is actually a very livable color! Already in Pantone’s Spring Color Report for 2018, in both the NYC and London color palettes, Ultra Violet is much more than the royalty feeling we get from it.
When it comes to home decor, Ultra Violet comes to break boundaries and help interior designers bring the idea of self-expression into a room. An accent color by excellence, there is no way a room will ever be the same after having been added a pop of Ultra Violet.
Expressing that will of breaking boundaries, Ultra Violet is the right choice if you are looking to get a bolder look for your living room. You can use it in a big accent piece, or in small details across your living room!
Make it shine!
Ultra violet will look amazing next to a softer color of the same family. Monroe accent chair by Essential Home boasts a pastel Millennial Pink that would look amazing next to a bold color such as Pantone Color of the Year 2018! We also suggest Armstrong floor lamp by DelightFULL in matte black as a luxurious color block!
